Description:

SVSU's secondary education program provides a supervised teaching experience in the first year of enrollment, allowing you to experience teaching before enrolling in Education courses. Prior to student teaching, students have 300 hours of experiences with students, teachers, and administrators. Secondary education students earn a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education. In addition to education courses, students complete a major and a minor.

The College of Education is fully accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and has been cited by NCATE for exemplary practice. SVSU is approved as a teacher preparation institution by action of the State Board of Education.
